Shopping for Newfie Items
Loving your experience in Newfoundland so much that you want to bring a bit of "the rock" back home with you? Whether you're shopping for yourself or for gifts to bring home, here are a couple of favourite places where you can bring a reminder of your trip home...to hold you over until your next trip!
The below is by no means an exhaustive list, but if you find yourself downtown St John's on a nice day, build in some time to walk along Water St and Duckworth St and pop in and out of a few little shops.
Saltwater Country is a local little store on the main hwy in Bay Bulls you certainly passed on the way here. Tons of local and classy trinkets to represent your time here, including lots of whale items. On your way back to Bay Bulls from the house, it's a little blue building with red doors found on the right side of the Hwy before entering Bay Bulls. Keep your eyes peeled - it's a little gem worth stopping into.
807 Southern Shore Hwy, Bay Bulls

The Downhome Shoppe is the quintessential place to pick up souvenirs of Newfoundland. Located on Water St in downtown St John's, you'll find all manner of items from clothing to snacks, books, music, and trinkets galore. They are also known for their publication of "the Downhomer" magazine. Check out their website below to shop online, subscribe, or look for their info and hours.

The Newfoundland Weavery is not quite as its name suggests, but rather a bit more upscale souvenir shop from the regular fridge magnets and shot glass variety. It features local crafts, pottery, art, clothing, books, and lots more. It is up the road from the Downhome Shoppe on Water St in downtown St John's.
